Decloaking

Post  PixelRelic on Sat Jan 18, 2014 12:11 am

How do you decide where and when you decloak?
I've only recently discovered how close you can get away with decloaking due to comms overpowering the decloak sound. Do you guys prefer to decloak in a spot that's completely hidden/isolated from all angles, or do you prefer to decloak in unorthodox, risky spots?

I find that decloaking in unorthadox areas are much better against more skilled players, since if you've made a presence once in a game and start pestering the enemy, they know where to spy check for you (Personal experience) Also, I prefer to decloak near a high ground like most other people, because then you have more opportunities for a stab.

Decloak in the middle of everyone at the right time or decloak a kilometer away and headshot or decloak around a corner and come in quick

Positioning is incredibly important. Once you get to higher levels, you can't decloak in a safe position and just walk up to your target from behind. 9/10 times, you'll be spotted and denied. You have to put yourself in the best position possible so that the closer you decloak (without being spotted ofc), the less the chance you'll be called out. Where you decloak will be the difference between getting and just barely missing a pick, so I like to decloak really close and unorthodox aye.

Only niche is that you have to watch out for the problem players that can and do listen for decloaks very well. I notice this most often in Heavies and Snipers, so be wary for those players and decloak accordingly.

Press right click. Actually, you can do it anywhere, anytime, but always look behind, as Villdjack says, "Do 360° always!!". Before, and after you decloacked.

No, I think you'll find he pulls a Decoy Baguette out of his bag, throws it, and because it is made from the most prime of French ingredients, the symphony of crackles provide enough noise for him to slip by untouched with a beautiful decloak.

And then slip on a banana peel and fall into a wood-chipper.

Please for the love of god don't talk about your personal "secret strats". If you are unable to share whatever it is then then keep from mentioning it.

Sorry if it was a joke and I'm a cunt but the point stands   Wink

I can tell if needed. Its really simple. Sometimes work, sometimes not. The trick is: to fade the decloack sound with a command, like with "Battle cry!".

sniper are far away from everything, the only thing they ear is their shots, for that reason their ear every decloak near them

as far as masking the decloak sound, the best way is to was someone of your team to provide a distraction
